Mr.
Floyd Carter, Physical Education Assistant
Education
Master Degree, Old Dominion University in Physical
Education with Licensure,
Norfolk, VA, Completion in the Spring 2007
Bachelor of Science in Sports Medicine
Concentration: Rehabilitation and Biomechanical
USATF Certification of Track and Field
Philosophy of Teaching:
“Everybody needs somebody.” My students need me.
As I approach my class at the beginning of the year, I explain
to them that they will learn from me that I will learn from them.
All my teaching is based on “inclusion,” whereby I
challenge all my students to do their best. All children participate
for the duration of an activity at their own level and abilities.
Although this may take more planning, it allows the students to
reach their own potential, where they can see their own growth
and development. My greatest success will always be the child
who learns how to learn.

Heidi Jacobs , Physical Education
Assistant
From kindergarten to master's degree, I have been educated solely in New York. This is where I developed a love for playing sports and being active. With a Bachelor of Science in Education and a Master of Arts in Liberal Studies, I am certified to teach physical education and health education. I obtained these degrees at SUNY Cortland and SUNY Stony Brook.
Before moving to Virginia Beach, I taught physical education at an elementary school in New York. Coaching gymnastics was the inspiration that lead me to teaching. Because of this innate passion, I continue to teach gymnastics at a local gym in Virginia Beach.
